Icephotos.com - photos of Iceland.
Photographs that capture the beauty of Iceland’s extraordinary wilderness through images of glaciers, rivers and waterfalls, plants and animals and highland and coastal scenery.
Iceland lies close to the Arctic Circle and where the great Continental plates meet. A country of volcanoes and glaciers gives rise to a landscape of lava and ice. It is home to thousands of wild fowl and seabirds during the spring and summer. Millions of puffins and guillemots settle on the rocky cliffs. The lakes and lagoons are visited by countless ducks, geese and swans and the wetlands are home to many of northern Europe’s wading birds.
From Reykjavík to Raufarhöfn and Ísafjörđur to Ingólfshöđi we travel widely throughout Iceland as the seasons unfold, recording the drama of an ever changing landscape. We not only visit the popular tourist destinations of Geysir, Gullfoss, Skaftafell National Park and Jökulsárlón in the south and Mývatn, Dettifoss and Jökulsárgljúfur National Park in the north but also locations rarely seen by tourists in Iceland’s wild interior.
